  • Improvement of balance
  • Control of biomechanical function
  • Overall pain alleviation

What are Medical Compression Stockings?

Compression stockings are specialized hosiery, designed to aid in the prevention or progression of vein disorders or general swelling lower limb fatigue or discomfort.

Compression stockings gently squeeze surface veins, arteries and muscles progressively from the ankle up toward the knee or thigh depending upon application. This moves blood up the leg, causing more blood to return to the heart and prevent leg swelling and/or blood clots, pooling or swelling toward the feet.

Wearing compression stockings will help with:

  • Aching and heavy feeling in legs.
  • Swelling in lower limbs.
  • Prevention of blood clots, especially after surgery or injury.

A certified compression stocking specialist is trained to assess and properly fit stockings dependent upon the clients specific requirements.
